Acte 6 - DIJON - Gilets jaunes
This is what revolution looks like.
Whether the French Spring turns into another Arab Spring and into another dictatorship like Egypt or chaos like Syria is up to M. Macron..... him standing down would only partly abate the Yellow Vests' demands, which include, and which is now paramount, citizen initiated referenda including votes to remove corrupt politicians and bureaucrats. The Irish Yellow Jackets have added judges to that list.
The French Yellow Jackets are completely hostile to Monsanto and to French military power abroad and to the banks, which like Monsanto and the Big Media they want broken up. They view the community as the building block of fair democracy, not representative democracy which has grown grossly out of touch (and living in luxury relative to the working poor and middle class)... the municipality as the cornerstone of democracy - just as it is in Oaxaca state in Mexico since the APPO revolution there in 2006, and in Zapatista areas of Chiapas. Same as with Switzerland and also how San Marino runs (I think).
It's not just Macron who's holding on - all great wealth in France is 'threatened' i.e. with losing everything like the nobility mostly did from 1789 on including their lives. If Macron tries to up the ante with live rounds and tanks, both of which have been talked about in the rantings of the right-wing media shooting the violence from the rooftop... never the day-long peaceful part of the protests, or what they want - they only start shooting once the police attack and then call it "riots" and call them anarchists... if Macron wants to hang onto power by getting ugly, it's gonna get REAL ugly......he'd do the world a favour by just resigning... but those behind him have too much to lose.. particularly the "too big to fail" banks who the GJ want dismantled and an end to governments having to borrow from private banks to print money.
Yeah, well anarchy as theorized/imagined by Kropotkin and Bakunin would happen when the public willed into being as states failed as organizations.
It's Macron's and the banks' and m-i complex and oil-mongers' choice whether to start shooting or not... given the horrible things that came of the Arab Spring and the two Gulf Wars and more it's not a hopeful respect... but taking on the French people has taken down more than one king and dictator ..... .
And France has a seat on the Security Council, which Macron currently controls. So far. And the army and the Foreign Legion. So far....
There's a real risk of a civil war .... let's hope not. This can be chaos or it can be like Iniia and Gandhi where the British were forced to withdraw the Raj.
Speaking of Britain, where any *genuine* British Yellow Jackets should be is in The City, which is a sort of tax haven for international money within the UK...
Anyways, if the co-called Canadian Yellow Jackets are for rejecting CUSMA and FIPA and Harper-Bush military and policing treaties with the US and an end to Bill C51 and more, and arguing like the French and Irish REAL Yellow Jackets for citizen democracy and recall of politicians by public vote and fair income for everyone... they might have my support.
But for now they're a bunch of oil cowboys who are p'd that they can't met their big-truck and fancy-house payments and are only in it for ONE industry. Their own.
Maybe by the time they get to Ottawa they'll have realized the true cause.. not their own cause, but all of our cause.
Self-government and community fairness and human survival.
Referendum democracy, currency and bank reform, and end to foreign military expeditions unless peacekeeping or humanitarian ONLY, a liveable income for everyone, taxing the rich, and more... if they will support that then they're Yellow Jackets. Otherwise they're just bullshitters with big trucks and a bad attitude.
